Antigua and Barbuda
The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Information Technology of Antigua and Barbuda joined LAC4 on behalf of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda in August 2024.
Cooperation between LAC4 and Antigua and Barbuda is focused on enhancing national cybersecurity capacities and strengthening digital resilience. This collaboration has been reflected in several practical initiatives, including the launch of the Cyber Hygiene Platform on 9 March 2026, developed jointly with EU CyberNet in cooperation with national authorities. Additional activities include advanced training programmes on cyber incident response, cyber threat hunting, and endpoint security for Caribbean countries, as well as follow-up engagement supporting SMEs in strengthening IT risk management and strategic planning. Overall, these efforts demonstrate a targeted and capacity-driven partnership aimed at reinforcing technical expertise and fostering regional cooperation.
The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Information Technology is the government body responsible for driving the nation’s digital transformation and overseeing essential infrastructure. Its primary mission is to modernize public services through e-government initiatives, strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, and manage the country’s telecommunications spectrum. To address these evolving demands, LAC4 hosted its latest members-only webinar on this topic, which aimed at providing participants with a foundational blueprint for building and scaling effective SOCs.
Members-only Seminar: a Legal Architecture and a Common Framework (April 2026)
The seminar focused on the development of a coherent legal architecture and a common cybersecurity framework in Latin America, beginning with an introduction to the NIS 2 Directive adopted by the European Union in 2022 and the cybersecurity situation in Czech Republic. The session highlighted that, although many countries in the region are aligning with international standards, adapting these frameworks to local institutional, technical and economic realities remains a significant challenge.
Members-only Seminar on CSIRT Simulation Scenarios (February 2026)
The 8th LAC4 members-only seminar, delivered by experts Helio Sant’Ana and Ian McWilliam, focused on strengthening CSIRT preparedness through cyber incident simulation exercises. The session emphasised that effective incident response depends not only on technical tools but also on coordinated procedures and teams trained to operate under pressure.
