Antigua and Barbuda joins LAC4

Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of Antigua and Barbuda on behalf of its government has become the tenth member of LAC4.

“We are thrilled to welcome Antigua and Barbuda to LAC4. This partnership allows us to leverage the European Union’s expertise in cybersecurity and learn from Antigua and Barbuda’s unique experiences in this crucial field.” – Liina Areng, Director of LAC4.

“Antigua and Barbuda looks forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with LAC4. This collaboration will enhance our ability to address the ever-evolving challenges in cybersecurity and improve our cybersecurity capacity and capabilities.” – Hon Melford Nicholas, Minister of Information and Communications Technologies of Antigua and Barbuda.

LAC4 has 9 members in addition to Antigua and Barbuda, represented by respective national authorities or organisations: the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Honduras, the Netherlands, Panama, Uruguay, pan-regional RedCLARA, and Cyber 4.0: Cyber Competence Center of Italy.

Tallinn Cyber Diplomacy Winter School brought cyber experts and diplomats from e-Governance Academy’s alumni network to Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic from 10th to 12th March for exchanges on common cyber challenges and explored diplomatic and other collaborative mechanisms to address these.

Discussing Cyber Climate Coverence in the Caribbean

Last month, Piret Pernik, a EU CyberNet and LAC4 expert, and a researcher at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, discussed global and international perspectives on the convergence of cyber and climate risks at the conference “Cyber Climate Convergence in the Caribbean” in Aruba.
