The Bridge to cyber capacity building in the Americas

As the Latin American and Caribbean region undergoes rapid digital transformation, the traditional Security Operations Center (SOC) model is being challenged by the need for increased agility and cross-border collaboration. To address these evolving demands, LAC4 is hosting the next members-only webinar on this topic, aiming at providing participants with a foundational blueprint for building and scaling effective SOCs.

The LAC4 Centre will host the practical training course titled “Undercover Digital Investigation in the Fight Against Drug Trafficking”, which will take place from 18 to 22 May 2026. The course is organized by the ALCORCA programme of the Embassy of France in the Dominican Republic.

the LAC4 Centre, within the framework of the EU–LAC Digital Alliance cooperation, is implementing a training program in Colombia aimed at strengthening the capacity of electoral authorities and relevant stakeholders to protect electoral infrastructure, manage cyber risks, and effectively respond to cybersecurity incidents during elections.

In recent years, cyberattacks have grown exponentially in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, Member Countries of the Andean Community, affecting individuals, governments, and companies alike. While governments and large companies have better tools and resources to prepare for and face these threats, the same is not true for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
