EU CyberNet invites LAC4 members to join the exclusive members-only online seminar series covering the most relevant cybersecurity topics. The sixth seminar, “Ransomware Response Strategies”, will be held on August 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (UTC/GMT -5).
Ransomware attacks continue to be one of the most disruptive cyber threats to public and private organizations in Latin America. These incidents not only compromise the availability and confidentiality of data but also affect the continuity of critical operations, often generating significant reputational and economic impact.
National and sectoral CSIRTs play a key role in the detection, containment, and recovery from these types of incidents, as well as information security personnel from public and private sector organizations. However, the rapid evolution of malicious actors’ tactics and the increasing complexity of technological environments require continuous learning and the sharing of updated best practices.
The next edition of LAC4 members-only seminar will focus on strengthening the technical and operational capabilities of the region’s response teams in the effective handling of ransomware incidents.
Participants: Open to national and regional public officials and policymakers and experts from LAC4 Member countries (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, the Netherlands, Panama, Uruguay).
