LAC4 Members-only Seminar: Introduction to an Open-Source Intelligence in Cybersecurity for Public Institutions

EU CyberNet invites LAC4 members to join the members-only series of online seminars on the most topical issues of cybersecurity. The fourth seminar “Introduction to an Open-Source Intelligence in Cybersecurity for Public Institutions” will take place on 10 April 2025 at 9:00 am (UTC/GMT -5)

The aim of the seminar is to introduce open-source intelligence (OSINT) aspects in cybersecurityto LAC4 member country stakeholders and policymakers from cyber security, digital matters, diplomacy sectors. More specifically, the seminar offers participants to familiarize themselves with fundamentals of OSINT, its legal and ethical aspects in governance, basic tools and techniques to gather, analyse and report open source information, illustrated by practical case studies.

Participants: open to national and regional policymakers and experts in cybersecurity, digital matters and law enforcement from LAC4 member countries: Antigua and Barbuda, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, the Netherlands, Panama, Uruguay and RedCLARA.

Speaker: José Callero who is a systems engineer and a cybersecurity expert from Uruguay. With over 25 years of experience in various areas of information technology, he currently serves as the operations manager at Urudata Cybersecurity, which is a leading and the largest private security operations center (SOC) in Uruguay. He also has served as the director of CERTuy, where he was responsible for the design and development of the national SOC.
