LAC4 to Train Journalists on Reporting Cyber Incidents

LAC4 in cooperation with Agency for Electronic Government and Information and Knowledge Society of Uruguay (AGESIC) is organising a training for Uruguayan journalists in Montevideo, Uruguay from 2 to 3 March. The training, titled “Journalists on the Frontline: Reporting Safely and Accurately on Cyber Incidents”, focuses strengthening journalistic capacity among Uruguayan media representatives and journalists to effectively understand, cover and report on cybersecurity issues, incident and cybercrime.

Members-only Seminar on CSIRT Simulation Scenarios

The 8th LAC4 members-only seminar, delivered by experts Helio Sant’Ana and Ian McWilliam, focused on strengthening CSIRT preparedness through cyber incident simulation exercises. The session emphasised that effective incident response depends not only on technical tools but also on coordinated procedures and teams trained to operate under pressure.

Mexico Joins LAC4

Mexico on behalf of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency of Mexico (ATDT) has become the 18th member of LAC4.

Building Cyberdiplomacy Capacity in Panama

LAC4 concluded a three-day workshop on cyberdiplomacy for the staff of Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held from 4 to 6 February in Panama City.

Chile, through the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCI), has become the 17th member of LAC4.

LAC4 Analysis: A Comparative Legal Analysis of Cybersecurity in LAC Region

LAC4 and EU CyberNet have published a comparative legal analysis of cybersecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean, titled “Cybersecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean: Towards a Legal Architecture and a Common Framework”. Analysis has been written by Jersain Zadamig Llamas Covarrubias and César Moliné Rodríguez, and reviewed by Juan Pablo González Gutiérrez.
