13 SME-s Chosen for Cybersecurity Training in May in Peru

13 small- and medium-sized enterprises from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru have been chosen to participate in a cybersecurity training in Lima, Peru in May 2026, organised in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Andean Community and the Delegations of the European Union. Participants were chosen from 51 applications. 

LAC4 to Support Students at MAGIC CTF

LAC4 supported the participation of 16 students from the Dominican Republic in the MAGIC International Capture the Flag Cybersecurity Competition (CTF), taking place virtually on 18 April 2026.

LAC4 and Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá Join Forces to Strengthen SME Cybersecurity

In a strategic effort to bolster the digital transformation and resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, the Latin America and Caribbean Cyber Competence Centre (LAC4) has partnered with the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB), and will assist in providing two experts that will carry out a comprehensive cybersecurity training webinars cycle.

Seminar on Best Practices in Cybersecurity for Internet Service Providers

LAC4 in cooperation with the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL), organised a virtual seminar on best practices in cybersecurity for internet service providers (ISPs) on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Members-only Seminar: a Legal Architecture and a Common Framework

The seminar focused on the development of a coherent legal architecture and a common cybersecurity framework in Latin America, beginning with an introduction to the NIS 2 Directive adopted by the European Union in 2022 and the cybersecurity situation in Czech Republic. The session highlighted that, although many countries in the region are aligning with international standards, adapting these frameworks to local institutional, technical and economic realities remains a significant challenge.

LAC4 is Supporting the Bahamas’ Cyber Resilience with National Cybersecurity Risk Assessment

LAC4 in cooperation with EU CyberNet is supporting the government of the Bahamas with its national cybersecurity risk assessment. Conducted with the capacity of EU CyberNet Expert Pool, the assessment supports implementation of the Bahamas’ national cybersecurity strategy in establishing a robust national cybersecurity posture.

At HackConRD 2026: Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity

EU CyberNet Expert Carlos Polop delivered a session on using artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and pentesting at HackConRD 2026 conference on 28 March 2026 in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic.
