LAC4 is Supporting the Bahamas’ Cyber Resilience with National Cybersecurity Risk Assessment

LAC4 in cooperation with EU CyberNet is supporting the government of the Bahamas with its national cybersecurity risk assessment. Conducted with the capacity of EU CyberNet Expert Pool, the assessment supports implementation of the Bahamas’ national cybersecurity strategy in establishing a robust national cybersecurity posture.

“Our cooperation with the Bahamas in building more cyber resilient society reflects the spirit of cyber resilience being a shared effort. Through this national cybersecurity risk assessment, the LAC4 with the support of the European Union is supporting clearer understanding of national risks as well as contributing to more resilient Caribbean region. Resilient partners mean more secure and stable global digital environment where economies, societies and underlying connections can thrive safely.” – Cesar Moline, Regional Manager of LAC4.

“The national cyber security risk assessment that we will be conducting is a critical step in strengthening the Bahamas’ cyber resilience and national security posture. As digital transformation accelerates and cyber threats grow more sophisticated in our region and around the world, we must proactively assess vulnerabilities across our nation’s most critical sectors such as finance, tourism, maritime, energy, and telecommunications. This risk assessment will provide a clear, data driven understanding of The Bahamas cybersecurity maturity, enabling us to make informed decision, allow stronger inter agency coordination, and targeted risk mitigation for our critical information infrastructure. We are especially excited to partner with LAC4 on this important initiative to protect the nation’s critical information infrastructure. Through our regional collaboration and shared expertise, we are looking forward to advancing towards a more resilient, secure, and globally trusted digital Bahamas.” – Sametria McKinney, Director of the National Computer Incident Response Team of the Bahamas.

The assessment by EU CyberNet Expert Marcel Gerardino seeks to provide a baseline understanding of cyber risks across critical infrastructure information (CII) systems and enable information decision-making to prioritise cybersecurity initiatives and improve the protection of critical government services and broader digital economy. Additionally, the assessment will offer standardised cybersecurity risk assessment framework for public and private sectors to enable informed decision-making, prioritisation and improved protection of critical public services.

Assessment process will engage stakeholders across public and private CII systems, including telecommunications, energy, emergency services, transportation, health, water and waste, and Banking and finance.

The assessment commenced in January 2026 and is expected to conclude in later 2026.
