Strengthening Cyber Space in Latin America and the Caribbean with the EU CyberNet Cyber Hygiene Platform

As part of LAC4’s ongoing commitment to the digital transformation of Latin America and the Caribbean, the LAC4 together with EU CyberNet project expands the EU CyberNet Cyber Hygiene Platform to Guatemala and makes it readily available to all LAC4 members to improve cyber capabilities across all government officials and organisations.

In an era of rapid digital acceleration and transformation, cyberhygiene is the first line of defense. Much like physical hygiene, these fundamental practices, such as robust password management, recognising phishing attempts and updating software, are essential to preventing the spread of digital “infections” that can lead to large-scale cybercrime and national security vulnerabilities. The EU CyberNet Cyber Hygiene Platform allows to strengthen national cyber resilience by raising awareness among public sector oraganistations and train their employees understand, recognize and mitigate common cyber threats.

Key Aspects of the Platform

Developed in cooperation with the EU CyberNet and made accessible through LAC4, the platform serves as a central hub for foundational cybersecurity training, designed to protect citizens, public officials and businesses from the evolving landscape of cyber threats.

Aligned with LAC4 core activity areas of providing education and training, the platform offers:

  • Interactive Learning: Engaging, accessible and user-friendly courses designed to turn complex cybersecurity concepts into actionable daily habits.
  • Resource Repository: A collection of awareness-raising materials and concepts to support the development of national cybersecurity strategies.
  • Progress Tracking: Tools for organisations to monitor their cyber-readiness and cyber resilience.
  • Localised content: The platform is available in English and Spanish, tailored to the Latin America and the Caribbean region.

Proven Track Record

More than 56 000 users from across Latin American countries have engaged with the platform since the launch in 2021. On average, users have scored 62% during the initial assessment, while after completing the course the average score has been 91%. This indicates a significant increase in the knowledge gathered during the course.

Get Involved

LAC4 invites national authorities, educational institutions and digital stakeholders of its Member Countries and partners to explore the platform and integrate these resources into their local cybersecurity frameworks.
