Apply Now! Training for Strengthening Cybersecurity Skills for SME-s from Andean Region is Open
LAC4 in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Andean Community and the Delegations of the European Union to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru is welcoming applications from small- and medium enterprises of the Andean region countries to participate in a training to strengthen cybersecurity skills. The in-person training takes place from 11 to 13 May 2026 in Lima, Peru. Deadline for applications is 15 April 2026.
Recent years have seen exponential growth in cyberattacks across Latin America, affecting people, governments and businesses alike. While governments and large companies have better tools and resources to address these challenges, small and medium-sized enterprises may lack these. To bridge these gaps and promote good cybersecurity practices in support to SME ecosystem in Andrean region, selected SMEs fromBolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will be welcomed to in-person cybersecurity and networking training.

Requirements at a Glance
Open to SME-s from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
Open to SME-s developing products or services with digital components and that are already or looking means to export to the European Union.
Open to SME-s with at least of three years sales.
Open to SME-s with a team of 5 people or more.
Completion of self-assessment of the MASS tool.
Motivation letter.
SME-s that have received any financial benefit from the EU are not eligible.
Applications will be evaluated based on applicant’s self-analysis of the benefit gained from the training, scalability of applicant’s operation and export and applicant’s commitment to publicise the use of MASS tool. Up to three ranked SME-s per country will be selected. Selected SME-s will be announced by 21 April 2026 via e-mail and on LAC4 website.
Once selected, two persons per SME is expected to attend. Organisers will cover the travel to, from and in Peru (except for Peruvian participants), accommodation and meals of one employee for SME-s ranked first and second. All costs related to the second participant of the first and second ranked SME or other costs related to participation are up to participants. Organisers will cover meals of the third ranked SME whereas all costs related to participation (including accommodation and travel) are up to participants.
One of the two nominated employees or professional services provider must have technical knowledge of information security and the other must be part of administration or management of the SME.
The seminar focused on the development of a coherent legal architecture and a common cybersecurity framework in Latin America, beginning with an introduction to the NIS 2 Directive adopted by the European Union in 2022 and the cybersecurity situation in Czech Republic. The session highlighted that, although many countries in the region are aligning with international standards, adapting these frameworks to local institutional, technical and economic realities remains a significant challenge.
LAC4 in cooperation with EU CyberNet is supporting the government of the Bahamas with its national cybersecurity risk assessment. Conducted with the capacity of EU CyberNet Expert Pool, the assessment supports implementation of the Bahamas’ national cybersecurity strategy in establishing a robust national cybersecurity posture.
EU CyberNet Expert Carlos Polop delivered a session on using artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and pentesting at HackConRD 2026 conference on 28 March 2026 in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic.
LAC4 organised an online follow-up training on 26 March 2026 to SME-s that participated in in-person workshop in March 2025 in Guatemala. Training focused on evaluating participant’s cyber resilience one year after the training and offer additional knowledge for strengthening cyber resilience.
The 4th edition of the CyberTracks programme, co-organised by LAC4 and partners is open for applications to bring together more women in cybersecurity across globe for an intensive training journey to equip them with skills and knowledge for success in cybersecurity. Deadline to apply is 19 April 2026.
