LAC4 Supports Building Local Cybersecurity Training Capacity in the Dominican Republic

LAC4 organised a practical train-the-trainer proramme last week in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic to support the strengthening of local cybersecurity training capacity.

Prorgamme was designed to strengthen practical cybersecurity teaching capacity of technical and vocational education communities while helping to create sustainable pathways for new talent to develop the skills needed to secure the digital future. It combined hands-on learning with a replication-focused approach that helps participants transfer their new knowledge to students and local cybersecurity communities. Programme also equipped technical educators and trainers from the Dominican Republic’s educational institutions with knowledge, tools and teaching resources needed to organise independently bootcamps for cybersecurity infrastructure and Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competitions.

Training programme, led by EU CyberNet experts  Ain Ellam and Allan Ild was attended by 26 participants: IT and system administration teachers, network administration teachers, vocational ICT trainers and technical staff organising cyber clubs, camps or CTP activities from Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA).

Training was organised in cooperation with the National Cybersecurity Centre of the Dominican Republic (CNCS) and the Institute of Technology of the Americas (ITLA).
