Her CyberTracks Training Kicks Off Today in Santo Domingo

Her CyberTracks Programme’s Training kicks off today in Santo Domingo at LAC4 Centre for a weeklong in-person training. Titled “Her CyberTracks – Incident Response CyberTrack: Women in CyberTech Camp@LAC4” brings together the LAC cohort of 14 aspiring female professionals from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic to strengthen their technical capabilities in handling cybersecurity incidents.

Through hands-on workshops, practical simulations, site visits and mentorship sessions, participants will develop skills and confidence necessary to take on leadership roles in their national and regional cybersecurity ecosystems. The agenda covers topics such as incident handling and response, OSINT, cyber threat intelligence, threat hunting tools, digital forensics and malware analysis. Additionally, participants will visiting the Dominican Republic’s national cybersecurity centre CSIRT-RD, have a mentoring sessions and participate in table-top exercises and capture-the-flag exercise.  

This training is part of Her CyberTracks programme which brought together more than 250 women from 42 different countries for a intensive five-month trainings designed to equip women with skills and mindset for success in cybersecurity.  

Her CyberTracks is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany  and the European Union and co-implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with the Global Programme on Cybercrime of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the Criminal Justice CyberTrack and the Latin America and Caribbean Cyber Competence Centre (LAC4) for the LAC region.
