CyberWeek@LAC4 2024 Opens with a Plenary Session in Santo Domingo

CyberWeek@LAC4 2024 launched today in Santo Domingo with an opening plenary session and a reception for participants and stakeholders from Latin America and Caribbean region and the European Union.

Director of LAC4 and EU CyberNet Liina Areng: “We’re delighted to welcome cybersecurity experts from 44 countries and oranisations across the Americas, Africa and Europe to the CyberWeek@LAC4 2024! Events like this enable teams from diverse backgrounds to train together and strengthen their networks, preparing them to respond effectively to any cyber incident. In cyber incident response, community and collaboration are. CyberWeek@LAC4 allows us to advance collective resilience and build robust regional cybersecurity ecosystem. I hope the coming days bring us closer to building a community that transcends borders and adds value to collective efforts in cybersecurity.”

Additionally, Guido Gómez Mazara, the President of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) and Katja Afheldt, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Dominican Republic, addressed the plenary with opening remarks.

LAC4 extends its gratitude to the Estonian Chamber of Commerce, the Czech Embassy, ​​NUMU, Indotel, the National Cyber ​​Security Centre and the EU Delegation to the Dominican Republic for their invaluable support in making CyberWeek@LAC4 2024 possible.

EU CyberNet Expert Carlos Polop delivered a session on using artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and pentesting at HackConRD 2026 conference on 28 March 2026 in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic.

The 5th CyberWeek@LAC4 and 0ct0b3rf35t will take place in Santo Domino, the Dominican Republic from 17 to 20 November 2026.

Following Up the In-person Workshop for SME-s Held in March 2025 in Guatemala

LAC4 organised an online follow-up training on 26 March 2026 to SME-s that participated in in-person workshop in March 2025 in Guatemala. Training focused on evaluating participant’s cyber resilience one year after the training and offer additional knowledge for strengthening cyber resilience.

Her CyberTracks Programme Launched to Empower Women in Cybersecurity

The 4th edition of the CyberTracks programme, co-organised by LAC4 and partners is open for applications to bring together more women in cybersecurity across globe for an intensive training journey to equip them with skills and knowledge for success in cybersecurity. Deadline to apply is 19 April 2026.
