By strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure, we help safeguard the trade routes and supply chains that connect Panama to the world.”

Training is designed to assist maritime hubs, ports and relevant government agencies in strengthening their digital defense capabilities. Participants, representing key Panama’s stakeholders will gain expertise and tools required to build resilient frameworks for tackling their unique cyber vulnerabilities.  

The training seeks to empower cybersecurity and IT managers operating within Panama’s maritime sector and related public domains to design, implement, monitor, and refine comprehensive information security plans. By enhancing these critical skills, participants will be better positioned to respond swiftly and effectively to both digital and physical security challenges. Furthermore, the session will foster a collaborative environment, promoting international networking and the exchange of best practices among peers. 

Training is led by EU CyberNet cybersecurity maritime expert Lisbeth Laurie and strategic cybersecurity expert Dan Ungureanu, and will include a cyber tabletop exercise to cement and test the acquired knowledge during the training, giving participants a more practical and hands-on run approach on the topics addressed. 

The programme will bring together representatives of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), National Customs Authority (ANA), National Aeronaval Service (SENAN), Aquatic Resources Authority (ARAP) and the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG).
