RedCLARA

RedCLARA joined LAC4 in November 2023.

Cooperation between LAC4 and RedCLARA has focused on enhancing cybersecurity awareness, capacity building, and knowledge sharing within the research and education community. This collaboration has been reflected in several joint initiatives, including the organisation of cybersecurity tabletop exercises (TTX), as well as activities such as a webinar held in the context of Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October 2025 and a seminar exploring the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in the field of cybersecurity. Together, these activities contribute to strengthening cybersecurity preparedness and fostering dialogue on emerging technological challenges within the region. 

RedCLARA is an advanced regional network that promotes science, research, education, and innovation across Latin America by connecting national research and education networks. Its mission is to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange within the region, supporting digital development and technological advancement.

LAC4 Members-Only Seminar: SOC Fundamentals & Comparative on European Models (June 2026)

As the Latin American and Caribbean region undergoes rapid digital transformation, the traditional Security Operations Center (SOC) model is being challenged by the need for increased agility and cross-border collaboration. To address these evolving demands, LAC4 hosted its latest members-only webinar on this topic, which aimed at providing participants with a foundational blueprint for building and scaling effective SOCs.

Members-only Seminar: a Legal Architecture and a Common Framework (April 2026)

The seminar focused on the development of a coherent legal architecture and a common cybersecurity framework in Latin America, beginning with an introduction to the NIS 2 Directive adopted by the European Union in 2022 and the cybersecurity situation in Czech Republic. The session highlighted that, although many countries in the region are aligning with international standards, adapting these frameworks to local institutional, technical and economic realities remains a significant challenge.

The 7th LAC4 members-only seminar, led by EU CyberNet Experts Gabriela Reynaga Vargas and Jurica Čular, focused on cybersecurity governance as a cornerstone for ensuring digital security, institutional resilience, and operational continuity in the face of complex and persistent cyber risks. While national governance frameworks, such as cybersecurity strategies, public policies and regulatory measures, set out broad lines of action, their effectiveness was shown to depend on strong organizational structures capable of translating principles into concrete mechanisms.
