About the Cyber Week @LAC4 2026
The Latin American and Caribbean Cyber Competence Center (LAC4) is delighted to announce Cyber Week @LAC4 2026, a premier event dedicated to fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in cybersecurity across Latin America and the Caribbean. This event will be held on November 17-20 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, bringing together cybersecurity professionals, policymakers, researchers and business leaders to collaborate, share insights and strengthen regional and global cyber resilience.
The last edition in 2025 welcomed over 150 participants and speakers from 34 countries to discuss topics ranging from ransomware and AI to cross-border incident response strategies.
As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening digital resilience across Latin America and the Caribbean, LAC4 recently concluded a specialised technical assistance mission focused on the proposed Mexican Cybersecurity Law.
13 small- and medium-sized enterprises from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru have been chosen to participate in a cybersecurity training in Lima, Peru in May 2026, organised in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Andean Community and the Delegations of the European Union. Participants were chosen from 51 applications.
LAC4 supported the participation of 16 students from the Dominican Republic in the MAGIC International Capture the Flag Cybersecurity Competition (CTF), taking place virtually on 18 April 2026.
In a strategic effort to bolster the digital transformation and resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, the Latin America and Caribbean Cyber Competence Centre (LAC4) has partnered with the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB), and will assist in providing two experts that will carry out a comprehensive cybersecurity training webinars cycle.
LAC4 in cooperation with the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL), organised a virtual seminar on best practices in cybersecurity for internet service providers (ISPs) on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The seminar focused on the development of a coherent legal architecture and a common cybersecurity framework in Latin America, beginning with an introduction to the NIS 2 Directive adopted by the European Union in 2022 and the cybersecurity situation in Czech Republic. The session highlighted that, although many countries in the region are aligning with international standards, adapting these frameworks to local institutional, technical and economic realities remains a significant challenge.
