This year the CyberWeek @LAC4 will focus on CSIRT Technical and Operational Development for the Latin America and the Caribbean region. The aim is to bring together professionals, experts, and stakeholders from the region and the world to promote coordination and cooperation, exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the field of computer security incident response. This event will provide a platform for fostering collaboration, enhancing technical capabilities, and strengthening operational frameworks within the CSIRT community. 

By bringing together professionals and experts from the Americas and Europe, we aim to address the unique challenges faced by CSIRTs and promote the development of robust incident response capabilities. This event will contribute to a safer and more secure digital environment in the region and globally. 

This event is expected to gathered over 80 participants from countries such as Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Brasil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, El Salvador, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, Sint Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Guyana, Dominican Republic, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, South Korea, Latvia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Estonia, Romania, South Africa and the USA. 

 CyberWeek will also feature the first iteration of LAC4 0ct0b3rf35t – 1-day CSIRT community event filled with case studies, overviews of best practices and introductions of new methods in fields of incident detection, mitigation and response.  

Objectives 

The main objectives of the event are as follows:  

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing on emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in CSIRT operations. 
  • Foster regional cooperation and partnerships among CSIRTs in Latin America and the Caribbean. 
  • Discuss challenges, opportunities, and best practices for establishing and enhancing CSIRT capabilities. 
  • Promote capacity building initiatives and training programs to strengthen the technical, procedural and operational skills of CSIRT professionals. 
  • Highlight successful case studies and practical implementations of CSIRT frameworks in the region and internationally. 

Target Audience 

Cyber Week @LAC4 is designed for professionals and stakeholders involved in CSIRT operations from the Americas, the EU and other like-minded countries, including: 

  • CSIRT managers and analysts 
  • IT and cybersecurity professionals 
  • Government officials and policymakers 
  • Industry representatives 
  • Academics and researchers 
  • Law enforcement agencies
