Women in CyberTech Camp@LAC4 to kick off

Women in CyberTech Camp@LAC4 to start in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic which brings three days of practical workshops, networking, peer-to-peer learning in cyber security principles, tools and methodologies.

The Camp is organized to empower women in cybersecurity as the field is crucial for safeguarding digital assets and infrastructure against cyber threats. Despite its importance, there remains a significant gender gap within the cybersecurity workforce. The camp not only fosters diversity but also enhances the overall resilience of digital ecosystems.

The women-to-women program will feature hands-on workshops designed to provide participants with foundational knowledge and insights into cybersecurity principles, tools and methodologies while developing practical skills in OSINT, threat intelligence tooling, and service design. Participants will acquire knowledge in Android OS reverse engineering and instrumentation, build shellcodes and other essential intrusion techniques, and foster a supportive learning environment that encourages collaboration, networking, and mentorship.

Over three days of practical workshops and networking, the participants will have the opportunity to learn from their peers and to build contacts to facilitate information and knowledge sharing in the future.

The participants are women working in CSIRTs, critical public and private sector organisations on information security and incident response in the Caribbean countries of Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and CARICOMS IMPACS.
