Undercover Digital Investigation in the Fight Against Drug Trafficking

The LAC4 Centre will host the practical training course titled “Undercover Digital Investigation in the Fight Against Drug Trafficking”, which will take place from 18 to 22 May 2026. The course is organized by the ALCORCA programme of the Embassy of France in the Dominican Republic.

LAC4 Centre, Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic

Criminal organizations have rapidly adapted to the digital transformation. Today, many of these groups operate like true multinational companies, using advanced technological tools and relying on specialists, including in areas such as cryptoassets and digital financial services, to strengthen their illicit activities.

In response to this challenge, integrating the digital dimension into criminal investigations is becoming increasingly essential. The training will address key topics such as:

  • The importance of integrating digital tools into investigations related to drug trafficking
  • How to work securely in digital environments
  • Fundamental principles of undercover investigations, including:
  • Creating a “legend” for undercover operations
  • Ensuring the protection of investigators and evidence
  • Transitioning from digital investigations to traditional investigations
