EU CyberNet external Cyber Capacity Building training for LAC region

On 22-24 November, EU CyberNet will conduct training on “EU External Cyber Capacity Building” for the personnel of EU delegations in Latin America and the Caribbean region. The training will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

LAC4 Dominican Republic Santo Domingo

The main goal of the three-day training is to help EU Delegations in the LAC region to understand key concepts of cyber policies, in order to prepare and run cyber-related capacity building actions – to formulate, design, deliver or support cyber capacity building interventions in the cyber resilience, fight against cybercrime, and cyber diplomacy, based on tested methods, tools and approaches. The course will consider what kinds of cyber engagement may be suitable in relevant regions and how existing programming may contribute to addressing this challenge.

The training for the LAC region in Santo Domingo will be the third course delivered by EU CyberNet project in 2022. The First Training took place in April in Istanbul and covered EU Delegations from EU neighborhoods and enlargement process countries. In September the Second Training took place in Nairobi, Kenya for 16 delegations from Sub-Saharan Africa. The feedback from the training has been very positive, 96% of participants in the Nairobi course assessed that the course met their expectations and they would recommend the training to their colleagues.

The training takes place in cooperation with the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission and the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments and is supported by the EU CyberNet team.
