Cybersecurity Bootcamp: Closing the Gender Gap in Cybersecurity

The CyberSecurity Bootcamp is a one-week program for 60 girls aged 13 to 16, combining technical training, teamwork, and language development. At this age, young women make key educational decisions based on their interests and future career plans. The bootcamp demonstrates that this field is accessible to everyone.

The program culminates with a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, where participants apply their skills in a dynamic and engaging environment. With small groups led by mentors and enriching cultural activities, the camp blends education, recreation, and personal development. While a single week cannot fully resolve gender imbalances, initiatives like the Bootcamp play a crucial role in inspiring young women to explore careers in cybersecurity. By fostering early interest, providing a supportive learning environment, and highlighting the potential of the field, the program enables participants to envision themselves as future leaders in cybersecurity. Through this approach, the Bootcamp contributes to a more inclusive and innovative future in technology.
