Cybercrime and Human Trafficking seminar

The weeklong seminar was conducted to help the beneficiary countries create coordinated transnational response to fight cybercrime and human trafficking.

LAC4 Dominican Republic Santo Domingo

EUCN and LAC4 continue their work on fostering capacities in the region in the area of Cybercrime and Human Trafficking. Together with the “Multi-Country Cross-Border Security Programme in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica” (MCBS) by International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) the weeklong seminar was hosted in order to help the beneficiary countries create coordinated transnational response to fight cybercrime and human trafficking.

Fighting organized crime and human trafficking requires a coordinated transnational response. For this reason, the European Union finances this programme, managed by FIIAPP and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

This included improved capacities to fight organized crime, increase the effectiveness of judicial interception and prosecution of cross-border security threats in the three countries, including dark web and undercover investigations, child protection policies, among others.

With this training we aim to strengthen the investigative powers of the agencies involved and their capacity to organize joint operations to intercept and identify organized criminal organizations, and to increase prevention and fight against trafficking in human beings.
